About Us

Todd and Shandra Madsen grew up in RIverton, Utah where they were nextdoor neighbors and childhood sweethearts. They both attended Bingham High School and then went onto college at the University of Utah and Utah Valley University. Todd graduated in accounting and has worked in management, IT and currently as a Preconstruction Manager for Okland Construction. Shandra is an entrepreneur at heart and has owned several businesses over the past couple decades and enjoyed being able to work from home and use her talents to serve her community. Todd and Shandra have been married for 25 years and have 5 beautiful children, one son in law and one granddaughter. Being parents and grandparents is their ultimate joy. They enjoy spending any time they can with their large extended families, camping, vacationing, playing games and enjoying the outdoors. Their love for Jesus Christ is foundational to who they are and serving their community and neighbors is of great importance to them. They love living in Herriman and are excited for this opportunity to serve those in their area seeking refuge and hope.

Melissa Hendricks was born in Indiana and raised in Cookeville, Tennessee. She came to Utah to attend Brigham Young University where she graduated in Family Studies. She married Bryan Hendricks while attending college. They are the parents of three adopted children. Bryan and Melissa are the grandparents of one little boy. The family is currently living in Herriman, Utah. Melissa is an organizer by nature and loves to see things neat and tidy and in their place. She loves to read many different genres of books, watch the discovery and history channels, and research her family history.

Marco Escobar is originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala, but has called Utah home for over 35 years. He’s lived in the “Riverman” (Riverton/Herriman) area for over 17 years with his wife and four incredible children. He loves the wonderful outdoor lifestyle Herriman and Utah provides residents. He currently sits on the Friends of Herriman board, and is passionate about helping other feel more included in their community. His passion for service is rooted in his childhood where, as a newly arrived immigrant living in Rose Park, his belief in the kindness people was changed by a small group of youth that delivered Christmas to his family one night in December. The Christmas miracle including clothing, food, toys, and a life altering orange Hot Wheel convertible toy car.

Blair and Marco serve as the Self-Reliance Directors in the South Salt Lake Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After working in New York City for several years, they settled in Utah to raise their family.

Blair grew up in the Washington DC area. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering. Blair owned and operated an advertising production and photography company in New York City and Salt Lake City for over 30 years, which was involved in producing print and digital catalogs, videos, point of purchase displays, billboards, and other media.

Marco grew up in Salt Lake City and taught high school family and consumer studies before earning her law degree at the University of Utah. She practiced law with private law firms in New York City and Salt Lake City. She was a Senior City Attorney for Salt Lake City, serving as chief legal counsel for the Salt Lake City International Airport, which included acting as legal advisor to the Airport Board.

Blair and Marco retired from their careers in production and law, and currently write and manage a travel and lifestyle blog. Spending time with their children and grandchildren is their greatest joy.

A native of Price, Utah, Lorin, his wife Christi, and their family have lived in Herriman for eight years. Lorin has spent most of his career managing industrial retail businesses before moving over to sales and eventually becoming the Western U.S. Sales Manager for a hydraulic hose manufacturer. Four years ago, Lorin left that career to become a stay-at-home dad while also working part-time overseeing recreation soccer for the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA).

Five years ago, Lorin became involved in the community lobbying for responsible, balanced growth in the area. In 2018, he was appointed to the Planning Commission and loved serving in that role up to being elected mayor.

Lorin ran on a platform of increasing economic development, improving outreach to residents, and working with the county and state to improve city infrastructure.
Lorin looks forward to serving this community and working with as many residents as possible.

Experienced Principal of Athlos Academy (Herriman Utah) with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Skilled in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Classroom Management. Strong education professional with a Master’s Degree focused in Human Resources Management from Utah State University.

My husband Jason and I built our home in Bluffdale in 2006. This is home for us and our five children. The City of Bluffdale was established in 1848 and incorporated as the City of Bluffdale on October 13, 1978. I have a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, have served on a local school board for five years and worked for the City of Bluffdale since 2014. I had the opportunity to be the emergency program manager, communications specialist, do business licensing for the city, direct Miss Bluffdale and plan special events. As the Mayor, I love meeting with residents, business owners, developers, other mayors and planning for our future.

Brittany Daw studied at University of Utah and Brigham Young University. Went on an LDS Mission to California where she learned Spanish and loved the people she served. She lives in Riverton and is originally from Sugar City, Idaho. She loves to latin dance, sing and serve. She is an amazing friend, loves to make people smile and works hard in support of all of her teachers and students on her session Wednesday evenings at the CAEC.
